Getting started
Install Vector OS
Check the supplied Windows beta before installing, then keep installation and connection as separate checkpoints.
Before you begin
- A Windows x64 computer that meets the exact requirements supplied for the eligible build.
- The current filename, byte length, SHA-256, publisher and installation instructions supplied with that build.
- A writable local installation/workspace location and your own licensed host application if you later want a connector.
Follow the steps
Check what is available
Open Download and read the current availability notice. Use the beta enquiry if you need build details; a request does not grant an installer or account.
Checkpoint: You can name the exact offered build and its requirements, or you stop here while an eligible build is unavailable.
Check the file before opening it
Compare the supplied installer filename, bytes, SHA-256 and publisher with the build details. Keep Windows protections enabled.
Checkpoint: All supplied identity checks match; a missing or mismatched check is a stop condition.
Choose a supported local location
Follow that build's normal per-user setup. Use a location you can write to. Use another drive only if the build supports it and the drive will remain available.
Checkpoint: Setup identifies the intended local location without asking you to bypass protection or alter unrelated host software.
Complete setup and launch
Let setup finish, then launch the installed shortcut. Read the installed version/build before continuing.
Checkpoint: The installed application opens and its build matches the supplied installer; this proves launch, not account access or CAD connection.
Continue only with available setup
Use the supported sign-in flow for this build. Open bundled Connect when you are ready to select your host and install its separate connector.
Checkpoint: You have reached the appropriate next step: sign-in, Configure later or Connect. No host is described as connected just because Vector OS installed.
Check the result
- The intended build launches from its installed location and reports its identity.
- Account confirmation, connector installation, live document connection and a verified native result remain separate checks.
If something goes wrong
Windows blocks the file, the publisher differs or the hash does not match.
Do not run it or disable protection. Keep the filename and error; ask Support for the current eligible artifact.
Resume from: File identity and eligibility checks.
Setup stops or the selected drive disappears.
Preserve the setup error and build identity. Restore the original drive/location before inspecting the setup result; do not layer a second install over an uncertain result.
Resume from: Known setup state using the build-specific repair instructions.
Only an old reference build is available.
Do not treat the historical reference as a current offer. Ask for current build requirements.
Resume from: Download availability notice.
