Rhino

Your first Rhino result

Use a small local practice model to review one bounded Rhino change and inspect its native receipt.

Before you begin

  • The exact supported Rhino/Vector OS/plugin lane and a fresh selected-document connection.
  • A disposable local practice document with declared units; keep customer originals separate.
  • An available model/account scope and a connector capability for the proposed bounded operation.

Follow the steps

  1. Check the live document

In Connect, confirm the intended Rhino process and practice document. Inspect the reported document units, tolerance and current revision.

Checkpoint: The context identifies the correct live document. Unknown units or a stale connection stop this walkthrough.

  2. Start with a read-only question

In an Agent, select Ask and request the current document units and relevant object context. Review the disclosed selected context and estimate before Send.

Checkpoint: The response is backed by current host context. Unsupported measurements are unavailable with a reason, not invented as zero.

  3. Describe one simple supported change

Choose Plan and describe a single box in the empty practice area with explicit positive dimensions and origin in the declared units. These are your chosen practice dimensions, not a hidden script.

Checkpoint: The plan lists the intended new object, dimensions, location, counts and warnings without inserting geometry.

  4. Review before Build

Inspect exact targets, dimensions, units and document revision in the approval. If anything differs, reject and create a corrected plan. Approve once only when the frozen plan matches your intent.

Checkpoint: The approval belongs to the current document and plan; an expired or stale plan does not proceed.

  5. Inspect the native readback

After dispatch, read the structured result and inspect the object in Rhino. Compare its new identity, count, geometry validity and intended dimensions with the plan.

Checkpoint: A verified native receipt and matching object establish the bounded change. Model prose saying done is insufficient.

  6. Save a separate copy only if needed

If the current capability offers save-copy, grant a local output folder and a new .3dm filename. Review that output separately.

Checkpoint: The new artifact is verified by file identity/hash/readability. Rhino save-copy must leave the active document path and unsaved-state semantics unchanged.

Check the result

  • One explicitly planned change has matching observed Rhino identity/dimensions and a verified native receipt.
  • A saved artifact is a separate verified output. Neither the result nor the saved copy is engineering approval.

If something goes wrong

  • The document changes, the approval expires or an object is unsupported.

Stop before dispatch. Refresh context and create a new finite plan; do not unlock/explode unsupported objects or reuse the old approval.

Resume from: Current context and new plan.

  • Some geometry appears but verification fails or the response disappears.

Keep the original operation reference and actual objects. Rhino undo grouping does not guarantee atomic rollback. Reconcile; do not recreate the box to see whether it worked.

    Resume from: Original native outcome.

  • The output filename exists or save reply is lost.

Do not overwrite. Inspect the original save operation, active document state and output receipt. Choose a new name only for a known new safe intent.

    Resume from: Known save-copy outcome.

Use a small local practice model to review one bounded Rhino change and inspect its native receipt. This walkthrough requires a qualified installed Rhino connector. Historical recordings and the website illustration do not establish a working native session. 1. Check the live document: In Connect, confirm the intended Rhino process and practice document. Inspect the reported document units, tolerance and current revision. 2. Start with a read-only question: In an Agent, select Ask and request the current document units and relevant object context. Review the disclosed selected context and estimate before Send. 3. Describe one simple supported change: Choose Plan and describe a single box in the empty practice area with explicit positive dimensions and origin in the declared units. These are your chosen practice dimensions, not a hidden script. 4. Review before Build: Inspect exact targets, dimensions, units and document revision in the approval. If anything differs, reject and create a corrected plan. Approve once only when the frozen plan matches your intent. 5. Inspect the native readback: After dispatch, read the structured result and inspect the object in Rhino. Compare its new identity, count, geometry validity and intended dimensions with the plan. 6. Save a separate copy only if needed: If the current capability offers save-copy, grant a local output folder and a new .3dm filename. Review that output separately.
